ALARICO

Verdicchio The writer Cimarelli in 1600 describes that in 410 AD Alarico king of the Visigoti, left Le Marche to defeat the Romans with forty mules loaded with barrels of Verdicchio because nothing else rendered his warriors more warlike and braver than Verdicchio. This is how Cimarelli says how the king of the Barbarians contrived to defeat the Roman Empire. That this is legend or fact, is history or pure pride, is a testimony to the qualities of Verdicchio: its force, elegance, taste and drinkability. Maturities and characteristics that remain still. Alarico is an example of excellence of the native typology of the Verdicchio di Matelica: (cru). After the vinification obtained from classical techniques to an advanced maturity, it is elevated in stainless steel vats, and reaches its correct equilibrium in May or June each year subsequent to the grape harvest.
It is then refined in bottles for at least two months at constant temperatures to then become Verdicchio di Matelica DOC. This is an absolutely unique wine that reflects the best of the territory.

Accompliments
This wine is best suited with fish dishes but also it is excellent with meat and tasty sauces, uncooked appetizers, lasagna, seafood risotto and main courses of fish in general. However, the persistent and fragrant bouquet, the harmony of the components, allow the wine to be paired with even more daring combinations such as: white meats, soups and cheeses, or meats of Marchigiana tradition like the prosciutto di Carpegna, the ciauscolo, salame di Fabriano , coppo and fragrant spices.
