Our Verdicchio di Matelica is called "Alarico" and takes its name from the king of the Visigoti that gave Verdicchio to his warriors to render them more warlike and brave. This wine is powerful and fresh, like the barbaric forces that defeated the Roman Empire.  Composed entirely from  grapes of Verdicchio, it is fermented in stainless steel vats and refined in bottles for at least two months.  It is a pale straw yellow in colour and is enjoyed with fish, and grilled or fry meats with few condiments.
